Well, these information below ware from 2 years ago and I didn't know whether some of these are true....

ABOUT ONEW'S FAMILY BACKGROUND:
onew's family owns a meat shop in a market. in korea, the meat is pretty pricey so they earn a reasonable sum of money from selling meat. besides, to be able to own a shop in korea, it shows that the family is relatively well-off. onew used to study in the SM academy and the school fees there is like 50 million won per month so yeah. he probably belongs to the middle to upper income family. and if you were to look back on the channel v bags special video. onew actually owns a notebook and 2 ipods which shows that his family is pretty well off too.

there was a SHINee fan who visited the shop before and said that SHINee's songs were being played in the store. apparently, onew learned how to play the piano on his own (ie. did not take lessons) as he enrolled into high school. he probably received proper lessons as a trainee in SM. onew is also said to be a really kind boy in school. on a field trip to the sea with his friends, he took a portion of meat from his family shop that could feed 10 people to share with his friends. even though that meant lesser earnings for his family that day.

there are many untrue rumours about onew's background. the most famous one being his family being a very prestigious and well respected family. about how his grandfather is a renowned pianist and his father works in the government but then gave up his position to invest a business venture with his mother. there was another rumour about how onew was a delinquent kid and he turned over a new leaf after a financial crisis in the family or some sort.

ABOUT KEY'S FAMILY BACKGROUND:
key's family is very wealthy (he is probably the most well-off in SHINee). his father works in the bonds sector (stocks exchange, investment, banking, broker etc). key was sent overseas when he was young to study language(probably english). he returned to korea and was sent overseas again for a year. i m guessing that he was sent to america since he mentioned before he stayed in sans francisco(or was it LA?) for a year before. key has also been on exchange programmes to america as well as scuba diving lessons before (go dig up the translated essays of key at the bulletins) so his family is definitely well-off to be able to sponsor him on such trips and all.

key is also very close to his grandmother. it is said that he grew up living along with his grandmother. which explains his 'umma' personality in the group as well as his naggy nature when talking sometimes.

with regards to key's family financial status. it is pretty obvious from the way key carries himself that he is from a wealthy family. for one his fashion sense and his knowledge abut fashion. he dresses well and knows a lot about the fashion trends which is something that people who are more well-off will pursue.


MINHO'S FAMILY BACKGROUND:
i m sure many of us have heard of this. minho's father is the ex soccer coach of the taejeon soccer team. he recently went to turkey during autumn for further training but has returned from the trip already.

it is believed that minho's family is relatively well-off too. a soccer coach's salary should be pretty high. and like key. minho's fashion sense is also very good. if you were to look at the channel v bags special video. minho's bag seems to show that his financial status is not bad. the vaio laptop, psp etc. even the bag itself appears to be pricey. (or maybe it's just in my country that those kind of leather bags are pricey). in the most recent stalker pics of him shopping in myeong-dong with jonghyun. minho is seen carrying a LV bag which needless to say, is exorbitant price and obviously not a kind of gift that fans can afford. so for minho(or his family) to be able to afford this kind of luxury, it can be inferred that his family is relatively well off too.

it is also said that minho had wanted to be a basketball player initially.


TAEMIN'S & JONGHYUN'S FAMILY BACKGROUND:
out of all the SHINee members. little is known about taemin's and jonghyun's family background. there have been rumours about how jonghyun and taemin knew each before they were trainees since both their mothers used to be celebrities. this has never been confirmed and it is pretty much unlikely too.

taemin's family is said to be the least well-off amongst the members. as a trainee. he did not own a MP3 player and had walked around wearing a set of headphones that was just tucked into his pocket and not attached to anything. when he was found out, he simply said that he just wanted to avoid having girls come up to him for a chat. the current ipod(it looks like an ipod but it may just be MP3 of some unknown brand) that he owns was a gift given by a noona fan on one of their earliest fansign event. there were rumours about his father being a history teacher in middle school but it was never proven true. the bags special on channel v shows taemin's bag as being the most simple amongst the members. there was nothing especially pricey in the bag which itself is a gift from the fans too. taemin's modest personality also suggests that he came from a humble background.
